Is coaching like counselling/therapy?Not really. Counselling generally focuses on the past, exploring what brought a person to where they are today. Counselling is needed when a severe emotional issue needs to be resolved to allow an individual to move forward with their life. Coaching references the past but mainly uses where we are in the present and how we can get to where we want to be in the future.

What's the difference between coaching and mentoring? When a person seeks mentoring, they tend to seek a more experienced person with industry or job knowledge to share. Often mentoring relationships last for years. Coaching isn't about advising what you should or shouldn't do. You don't need a coach to be in the same industry. Instead, coaching is guiding you on a journey by helping you organise your mind and holding you accountable for the actions you set.
