Hello from David

With a background in sports, both competing and coaching at the highest level, I know how vital the right mindset can be. I specialised in the 400m Hurdles, known as the killer event. This was not only tough on the body, but the thought of putting yourself through that pain every day is what really makes this event so hard. I had developed that "grind" mindset where everything had to be hard to have an effect. Working with my coach, who helped me change my perspective, was the first time I saw the true power of mindset coaching. Seeing that the "grind" wasn't allowing me to recover and run to my potential allowed me to work smarter for the first time, and the results showed.

What if you could apply that to your life? As my body aged and I became less competitive, I suffered a loss of identity. I was no longer the "athlete," and I was lost. I had reached my limit and everything I thought I was had gone. I was introduced to a "growth mindset during this low period." This is when you start believing that you're not limited and can improve anything you set your mind to.

Since then, I have turned failures into opportunities (I have failed a lot.) My journey hasn't been all positive; I have had to bounce back from many difficulties, many of which were self-made. After overcoming addiction and redundancy, I found professional personal coaching, and I suddenly knew what I wanted to do with my life. Having had so many people help me, I discovered that my passion was helping others.
